REVIEW: M.I.C. - The Hope

M.I.C. - The Hope "The Hope" is the debut album from 17-year-old Toronto emcees, Lyric and X-Ray, known together as M.I.C. The majority of the album is produced by the duo, with the standout beats being "Big Sounds" and "New Revolution."

"Hip Hop" is and ode to, well, you can probably guess, where Lyric and X-Ray toos out various names of rappers and albums to form the song. While the idea is fairly common, it's worth a listen.

The album does have a few drawbacks, with "Come On Ma" being one example where the beat and lyrics leave more to be desired.

"The Hope" ends with their first single, "In Your Eyes," which features Christina Paoletta on the hook and Leonard Mizzoni on saxophone. Both guests add to the smooth sound of the track.

While M.I.C. show some potential throughout their debut, their production could use some fine-tuning, which will come with time. Worth checking out.
