REVIEW: CHOKEULES - HYPERGRAPHIA

Chokeules - Hypergraphia For those of you who have heard of Toolshed, you know what to expect. For those of you who haven't, Chokeules' solo-effort Hypergraphia serves as a good introduction. The chemistry that he has built over the years with Timbuktu is apparent throughout as Choke controls the microphone and more than holds his own as a solo emcee.

Stand out tracks include the appropriately titled "Stand Out," the back and forth rap with Wordburglar, "Lyrical Dope," the posse cut "Gremlins on the Wing" and the de facto Toolshed track, "Strong Bros."

With contributions from Pip Skid, fellow Backburner artists Ghettosocks, Fresh Kils and Beatmason, and Toolshed's Timbuktu and Psybo, Chokeules employs a great roster of complementary artists, creating a cohesive, enjoyable album, evoking memories of hip hop past.

With all that said, Hypergraphia is all that it needs to be; a great listen from track 1 to 14 with no gimmicks and a high repeat value.
