sharky the great
There is a new predator stalking the oceans and seas of hip hop -
Sharky the Great White, aka Carcharadon Carcharius, aka Aquanova, aka Sharkasaurus Rex, aka J. Anderson. After 10 long
years perfecting his style he is about to take the planet by storm with his debut LP entitled "Treacherous Waters." While
living most of his 24 years in the K-W area he has strong ties to Toronto and is currently working with a number of the
T-Dot's finest emcees and producers. Not content to be one of Canada's best he is constantly trying to penetrate the US
market as well as the rest of the world.
Sharky's career as an entertainer started in early high school when his long time friend and producer Knowitall approached
him about joining his group. For the next 5 years they did small local shows and recorded demo after demo in the hopes of
getting discovered but when nothing developed Sharky decided to go to school and take matters into his own hands. He
graduated from the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology in 1995 and shortly after that joined up with a producer
named Prologic (formerly of BeatDown Music Productions). They did a compilation CD entitled the BeatDown Invasion that
included artists from Ontario and Michigan. While sales were not what they had hoped due to lack of promotion the
compilation did get them a great deal of attention and respect from their peers and Sharky ended up landing gigs opening
up for the likes of Sporty Thieves, Saukrates, and Ghetto Concept.
While he is known primarily for his battle lyrics and freestyles, Sharky prides himself on being as much a writer as he is
an emcee. It is this passion for the written word and his drive to make hip hop for intelligent people that keeps him at
the top of his game. Sharky's ability to write a heart felt love ballad or a political commentary and then switch it up and
rip a bone crushing battle rhyme is what makes him different from the millions of aspiring vocalists that are currently
flooding the hip hop scene. The only thing keeping this musical carnivore from achieving his many and varied goals right
now is the lack of money available to Canadian talent. If you happen to have some extra cash please send all donations to:
