O.G.

O.G. O.G., born Omar Gardner on January 24, 1989 in Toronto, is an uprising recording artist with a love and passion for the art that is hard to find these days.

Music has always been a part of his life, starting from singing in the school choir at the tender age of 6 and also becoming part of the church choir shortly after. As he grew older, always listening to music, O.G. began to start writing rhymes and freestyling at the age 12. During middle school he would always get together with his friends at lunch and after school for numerous cyphers, gaining attention of whoever was there to witness his lyrical talent. Once he started high school, he still continued freestyling and because theyre were so many freestylers at school, O.G. was called upon to show his lyrical supremacy by taking part in numerous battles.

During this time, Justin Cajoles a.k.a. "Jaguar" noticed O.G.'s talent and offered him to come to his studio and record tracks. Knowing this was his oppurtunity to take his love for music further, O.G. accepted the offer and shortly after became part of Jaguar's group called "Royalz" which had many people come and go. But in the end the final members were Jaguar, O.G., his brother Weezy and vocalist Crystal. Together they made numerous songs, gaining recognition of everyone at York Memorial Collegiate Institute and beyond. In 2005 they released two compilation CD's, first "Nightshift" and then "Heavy Work" which were embraced by all who got the chance to listen to. In 2006, O.G. came out with his own compilation of all his best efforts called "Lyrical Slaughter" which continued to display his lyrical prowess and love for music.

Unfortunately shortly afterwards Royalz disbanded, but it's members still are close friends today. The break up of the group did not stop O.G. from recording songs, and eventually his close friend and partner in freestyles "DoC" would offer him beats to rap on. DoC was impressed by the material that O.G. came with on his production, and has since then became one his main producers. Now O.G., DoC and "J Chrome", all friends from high school together are "D-Squad" a rap group that many say have talent unlike other rappers from Toronto. During the summer of 2008 DoC introduced O.G. to recording artist and producer KB, who has helped O.G. get information on shows in the area and who has also produced his smash hit "I Love Hip Hop" which has left crowds wanting more every time it's performed. Through K.B. O.G. has also been able to work with music producer "T-Nyce" who has produced his 2009 Single "Swagger Right There". O.G. has continued to build his skills and confidence by performing at numerous open mics around the GTA and will not stop, just simply because of his love for the music.
