JEZEUS MENDOZA

Jezeus Mendoza "Ten atento ya saben quien llego, had to do this for my people no se me olvido..."

Jezeus Mendoza South American Native born on June 21 1983, immigrated to Toronto, Ontario at the age of 6. Settling in the west end Rexdale section of the city this young individual realized that change wouldn’t come easy. Living in an area which was made up of predominantly minority groups Mendoza quickly became accustomed to the North American Urban lifestyle.

In 1991 Jezeus Mendoza would again have to change the environment he had become accustomed to living in when his family moved to the North York section of Keele & Lawrence. While in elementary school, only a short time after learning how to read, write and speak English Jezeus was introduced to the world of English poetry. Only 10 years old many noticed that this eccentric individual had a talent for writing and putting together poems and was encouraged to nurture his talent. Around that same time rap, hip hop and R&B music was roaring into main stream North American house holds. Becoming familiar with the the urban scene thru an older sibling Mendoza got his hand on a Cypress Hill, Public Enemy and Tupac Shakur mix tape his sister made which would spark the beginning of his transformation. Listening to these tapes Mendoza realized that his poetry was very similar to the writing styles that these music superstars where using. Jezeus continued writing poetry, as he matured the topic began to change to what he was experiencing in his life and what he was seeing in his surroundings, it was no longer poetry it was now lyrics. There his talent for hip hop would grow even more. At local Basketball courts, community centers, building complexes and parks, Jezeus began observing the local teens that would free-style and battling. Once learning how to freestyle himself he began mastering his craft and getting the respect of the local youths when he would join in and rap along with them.

Through out the years Jezeus Mendoza continued writing and rapping over industry beats and half way through high school he enrolled himself in a co-op program which would give him the opportunity to intern at a Downtown Toronto recording studio. Slamm Productions recording studio would initially be the inspiring motivation Jezeus Mendoza needed. He soon realized that it was something he wanted to do as a career. Working with an engineer from Slamm studios, Django Griffin taught Mendoza proper bar structure, which Mendoza used towards creating his unique style. Incorporating English and Spanish lyrics Jezeus Mendoza creates a new sound which can not be imitated, with his alternating styles he can vividly express his feelings and create a vision for the listeners.

Already having been featured on "Fletch 1- As the World Burns debut CD" and local mixtapes, Jezeus Mendoza is currently recording his debut solo CD with the help of various Producers from the United States and Canada, as an independent label with a Canadian distribution deal. Expect great things and great music from this rising star as he is ready to leave a lasting impression.
