GARFIELD aka MOSES THIEVERY

Garfield It's been an unbelievable adventure for Toronto Hip-Hop artist Garfield aka Moses Thievery. Known for his powerful lyrics, diverse styles and passion, Garfield uses his music to examine situations from a political and social point of view. It's all about seeking balance, and embracing each element of life. Garfield is a visionary as those who hear his music will attest.

Born in Toronto, Garfield grew up exposed to diverse lifestyles. Capturing different experiences out of life allowed this artist to develop a strong talent for writing music. Some of his musical influences include Al Green, 2Pac, and the Isley Brothers.

Garfield's music possesses the essential ingredients and new flavor needed to bring people to the dance floor. His lyrics have a touch of humour, with some great word play that will grab his listeners. With his demo being played on campus radio stations, Garfield has received a number of appraisals from DJ's across the city. He is a performer, and is not afraid to push himself to the limit. By hosting shows (Cipher on Rogers's cable), and performing in showcases, Garfield has proven himself to be audience friendly.

In 1997, Classic Entertainment released the first single "Done Wrong". It became a huge success receiving campus radio play from Toronto to Los Angeles. In the fall of 2001, Classic Entertainment will be releasing Garfield's greatly anticipated 12" single and video "Knock Her". This single will include another blazing cut entitled "Whatcha Want", to be featured on the ISBA compilation, Rap Essentials 2001.

With determination and focus, Garfield is on a mission. He's a man willing to do his own thing and he wants to be heard. With a sporadic carrier, he is now ready to face all of his challenges and step the center stage.

"One minute I'm here the next minute I'm gone, catch me on the corner, yeah I admit it, it's wrong but I'm can't over look certain things and be strong and my bride I'm gon make it happen and by God It's gon be by rappin"- Garfield
