C. LEON
C. Leon aka Ceaza Leon was born on October 17, 1984 in Toronto, Ontario. He
grew up in the Dufferin & Lawrence area of North York, a small area of
Government housing homes in Toronto, Canada. Known to many people around
the city as "Jungle". This is where he took his love for music and desire
to be heard to another level.
"Hip Hop to me is the voice of the street, whether it be the struggle or the
bling bling lifestyle. As emcees I think it's our jobs to show the world
what happens around us," says C. Leon on his beloved art form. "No other
genre of music is as real as Hip Hop. Hip Hop is from the street, it speaks
on issues everyone can relate to in different situations." Along with his
crew B.G.E. (El Nino, Cha Dizzy, & Choice) his inspiration he shares with
many other Canadian Hip Hop artists, being heard across the border and
accepted by our down south neighbours is a prized goal. "The Canadian Hip
Hop scene isn't a big enough stage to show the world what an artist has to
offer, I see the U.S. as a place where if you're accepted there, you'll be
accepted anywhere." C. Leon is determined to be heard, and is set out to
bring his strong charisma and powerful delivery to the whole Hip Hop world.
Writing rhymes for over 10 years now, it's hard to think that C. Leon is
your "Average young Hip Hop Head". His music is who he is; he almost walks
you through periods in his life in every song. "I call my music raw, it's
just what it is, I can't water it down, I can only speak what I know." His
musical influences include, the late Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Redman, Mobb
Deep, Wu-Tang, and Nas. Like those artists he hopes to give people music
they can grasp and almost live out.
The man also known, as Ceaza is a strong believer in "Hard work pays off in
the end," so he takes pride not only in his rapping ability, but also in his
beat making skill. "Learning how to rap was easy, but I had to put work
into my production skills, but now my beat making skills are getting to a
point where people can't believe I made a certain beat."
C. Leon is the new generation of Hip Hop that needs to be heard. His no
play attitude and work ethic can only be an asset to his already
well-rounded skill. This kid demands to be heard and rightly so, with a
vision as sharp as his, it's only a matter of time before people north and
south of the border are talking about him.
