BLUEKNIGHT CONNECTIONS

"Self absorbed and conceited / But for only obvious reasons" - somewhat posh, two intelligent yet comical men with harsh memories of what the streets can be like. They just happen to know they're some of the best two lyricists available. A unique group like none other...

LUI
No stranger to the streets, Luigi Vocaturo, aka Lui, has utilized his unique life experience by creating the most potent, yet carefully structured music of his time. He is an Italian hip-hop artist with the gift of lyrical diversity. Influenced by musicians such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Notorious B.I.G., Micheal Jackson, etc. have done, his Italian background and his everyday urban life has amalgamated the two to come up with his own unique style of new wave rhymes. Lui uses music as a reflection on his life and others, which give his rhymes, poetry and songs, passion, strength and meaning.

VISION
His amazing lyrical diversity stemming from a lifetime of writing allows him to present music that addresses such a wider spectrum of content then his contemporaries. His musical catalogue of unique concepts and catchy choruses range over beats that will move your body one night and have you feeling cocky in the club, to singing along to the positive messages in songs the next. His music jumps from storytelling rhythms to his experience living on the roads of the Megacity to love ballads, whether they be for the better or worse aspects of modern relationships. Vision’s “vision” also encompasses subject matter dealing with politics of the world, consciousness concerning the global environment and the personal struggles from within that we all must deal with on a day to day basis.

TOGETHER
Both of these men attended the Harris Institute for the Arts at seperate occasions. Their determination to succeed in the entertainment industry has encouraged them to never limit themselves and to always be open to a positive challenge. In 2002, their spectrum of entertainment began to elevate their careers as they landed starring roles in their first professional musical entitled Da’ Real Deal. Starting as volunteer's they soon began to be paid as artists for their contributions as artists, musicians, writers and mentors. With their diverse abilities they later earned parts in Dean Ifill’s Shakespeare adaptation of Twelfth Night. They worked with the translation team that took Shakespeare’s deep imagery and poetic justice into an urban adaptation with a hip-hop twist. Three months later they appeared in the play Drugs is my Witness. 2005 put them on stage in the sequel to Da' Real Deal "Reality Rules". They have dedicated four years of their life to the ActOut Project, an organization that specializes in Innovative Education and Educational Theatre. They've appeared at Elgin Theatre, Lorraine Kimsa Theare for Young People, Equity Showcase and Theatre Pass Maruel

LUI
Lui, known for his political rhymes, has become a key player in the delivery of political lyrical messages in the community, after the life altering experience of being stabbed and receiving over 103 sticthes to the back of his head, in what City TV's Dwight Drummond dubbed as "One of the most devastating assaults I've ever bared witness to". It is experiences like this that have given Lui the chance to integrate his life with his music, and is just one of the reasons why he has been reqested to perform at the annual M.B.A symposium in Barrie three consecutive years in a row.

VISION
L. Vision follows a very strategic agenda and continues to out shine many MC's on stage. His quick skills and lyrical content get him to the final round. L. Vision’s ability to articulate his rhymes with a loud, confident voice using clear vocabulary ensure he is always heard and never misinterpreted. L. Vision has performed in downtown hotspots like Phoenix, Revival, Jai Bar, Vivo Lounge and the Hooch, etc. Vision has made over 15 mixtape appearances and his live shows and guest appearances on artists releases help further assist his career as both an MC and producer.

LUI
Lui's artistry is in tact, but he has a keen interest in the management aspect of the entertainment industry. After graduating from Harris in recording arts management, he landed an executive assistant position for Canada's top independent urban label, Chris Smith Management. It is here where he managed such stars as Nelly Furtado, K-OS, Saukrates, Fefe Dobson, etc. Luigi's confidence and insight in the music world gradually kept growing, until eventually he felt knowledgeable enough to manage his own group, Blueknight Connections. Lui has devoted his life to the music industry in an attempt to help maintain the original quality and the integrity of Hip-Hop. As he is a true believer in the art of music.

VISION
As a producer, operating under his company Show Doctor Sound Services, he has worked on both professional and underground projects. A sound garnered through a lifetime of learning musical instruments, theory, studying music production at Harris, employment with BMG and his internship with a professional studio named Bunker 8 all enhanced his years of motivated self learning. Vision is currently expanding his studio and client base. In the underground music scene he has produced many local artists, continually using his beats and vocal recordings for its high quality and professional sound.

TOGETHER
In the year 2006, they are regarded as one of Toronto’s most versatile, well rounded and professional artists to work with. On an international level they have worked with actor Roger Smith and Rahzel from The Roots.. They've already received national press from Radio, Television and Internet interviews with such people as Susan Hayes (The National), Dwight Drummond (City TV), Arisa Cox (Toronto 1) as well as the Toronto Star, Toronto Life, Now Magazine and a feature on HipHopCanada.com. Together as one, the artistic integrity and surplus of musical knowledge, whether it be from the business or artist side, Blueknight is basically Toronto hiphop in its prime form, ready to be introduced to the world.
